UNEXPECTED. If I had to describe Red Bastard in one word, I’d be speechless for a good few minutes, then I’d have said it was UNEXPECTED. Complete with caps lock.

Red Bastard is without a doubt, one of the most random, mind-boggling, entertaining, outrageous and original shows I have had the pleasure of watching during the Fringe. Eric Davies, the man behind the (huge) red suit, is one creative man. He tackled the age-old enigma we fondly know as love, and his absolutely limitless and fearless sense of humour was a delight to behold.

Another thing which really stood out about this act was how poignant, insightful and emotionally involved it was. Despite being comedic and completely brazen, Eric tackled very private affairs (pun intended) in a personal, almost endearing manner, which is quite a feat seeing as he was in a huge red suit, with a face painted completely which save for red eye circles! He had a confronting style when engaging the audience which worked really well with the rest of his act, and he had people spilling things they would normally not speak about even with close friends!

Oh, and be warned… This show is NOT. FAMILY. FRIENDLY. In fact, it may not even be relationship friendly if you are the kind of person who has relationship secrets. Other than that, it is a must-watch for sure!
